Day One

  1. I started this blog and it feels good
  2. Two friends give me news of new and healthy pregnancies
  3. Another friend reminds me that things happen at the right time for the right reason.  This image is a powerful reminder to me of this.
My great great granny's grave in Swansea Jewish Ceremony.  She and her husband came to Liverpool, England from Lithuania via Latvia to flee persecution in the late 1800s

  2. Hello Benjam! I'm glad you like the Mathieson/Nathanson tale! My dad has got right into it. Because my great grandad changed his name (for various reasons) and became estranged from his family, it's been hard to trace his family, but my dad had a break through using genes reunited or something and has found the descendants of my great grandad's sisters who are living somewhere near London and are practicing Jews. Apparently we can trace one branch of our family back to the year dot because my great great grandmother is from a rabinical family (Rabinovich) and they have kept records of them ever since they started. My great great grandad's family is harder to trace as Jews in Russia were not allowed last names until the end of the 1800, so it's likely he was the first Nathanson. Very fascinating!! You go go go with your family tree and keep me posted. I love it!
